The Business Development position within the Sales department reports to the Divisional Director and involves working from 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. The role is based at the office in Worcester, with the option to work from home two days a week, as well as traveling to customer locations. The position includes a contributory pension. The primary focus of the role is to build strong client relationships and develop new business in order to meet monthly and annual sales targets aligned with the company's strategic goals.
The main responsibilities are divided into three areas:
1. Sales activities (70% of the role): Proactively targeting prospects and existing customers to cross-sell and up-sell, positioning our clients' services using a consultative approach, and meeting sales goals.
2. Account management: Providing high levels of customer service, meeting clients in person, and understanding their business objectives and future plans.
3. Data processing (15% of the role): Creating professional emails, completing forms accurately, and maintaining up-to-date data in the CRM system. This includes producing accurate quotes and using pricing models correctly.
4. Other duties (15% of the role): Ongoing training, adherence to company policies, and organizing one's workload efficiently.
To qualify for this role, essential requirements include:
1. GCSE Grade C in Math and English
2. Proficiency in MS Office
3. At least three years of experience in a similar business-to-business role
4. Reliability and possession of a full UK driving license with access to a car
Desirable qualifications include:
1. Higher education awards such as an Honours Degree or HND
2. Five years of experience
