About the Candidate
The post holder will be able to demonstrate expertise and up to date knowledge of the legislative framework for Fostering and bring a comprehensive understanding of current legislation in Fostering and know the Fostering and National Minimum Standards, and relevant up to date national qualitative research.
You will have relevant experience of Fostering Panels, have been a Panel Member, Vice or Chair of Fostering Panels who is competent or brings the relevant lived experience of Fostering. You should demonstrate your excellent communication skills and empathy providing evidence of your ability to ensure Panels functions smoothly and within an equality and anti-discriminatory practice framework.
The appointable candidate will be required to manage the demand for approval of Manchester City Council Recruited Foster Carers and Kinship Carers, including a quality assurance post approval Six Month Review for all MCC approved Carers, including undertaking Reviews following Allegations.
The Foster Panel Chair will collaborate and alert the Foster Panel Advisor to ensure the case is adequate for submission to the panel. MCC Foster Panels are held weekly on a Tuesday and appropriate remuneration will be confirmed within the contract for Chairing the MCC Foster Panel that includes reading time and preparation prior to the panel, and the development of the Foster Panel Service with the aim to achieve ‘outstanding’ ensuring positive outcomes are achieved for our cared for children and young people.
