As a Software Engineer 2, you will work as part of a Product Engineering team. At Current Health, our engineers strive to deliver end-to-end customer and patient outcomes versus narrow features. What You’ll Do
1. Build and maintain scalable, well-tested applications and microservices within our platform for use by patients and healthcare professionals.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including biomedical engineering, data science, electronics engineering, and product science.
3. Operate across the stack with a focus on back-end or data engineering.
4. Participate in technical design and code reviews.
5. Provide 24/7 support for the product, resolving live issues as needed.
6. Lead a product engineering team to deliver objectives that enable the product to scale and improve healthcare worldwide.
7. Work closely with Product Management to ensure team accountability for outcomes.
8. Understand the purpose of functionalities, their target users, and the value they deliver, contributing to product vision and strategy.
9. Consider the impact of the team's work on the broader organization, including architectural viability and opportunities for cooperation.
Basic Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Expertise in at least one modern programming language (Java preferred).
2. Experience with writing tests and producing testable code.
3. Ability to learn quickly and adapt on the job.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to weigh pros and cons.
5. Experience with managed cloud platforms such as AWS.
6. Ability to balance quality with fast-paced delivery.
7. Team player with good communication skills, willing to collaborate and compromise.
8. Comfortable with incremental development, prototyping, and adapting based on customer feedback.
9. Attention to detail with a big-picture perspective.
10. Skills in code review, deployment, troubleshooting.
11. Experience in healthcare or with Ionic hybrid apps is a plus.
12. Experience with scalable, distributed systems is desirable.
