Programme Manager Fixed Term Contract, AMZL Launch & Expansion
We are looking for a Program Manager to join our EU Last Mile Launch and Expansion team. In this role, you will lead and manage large-scale, cross-functional launch and expansion programs, as well as drive new strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include overseeing the conception and execution of multiple new sites across the EU. You will collaborate with key partners from real estate, engineering, finance, design and construction, public policy, and other departments to expand Amazon Logistics' network of nodes across the EU, supporting the company's growth strategy. Additionally, you will contribute to various cross-functional initiatives in Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering, and Infrastructure.
This role is a Fixed Term Contract.
Key job responsibilities
1. Find practical and simple solutions to complex problems without sacrificing quality.
2. Write and review business cases using information acquired from the stakeholders. Drive business decisions by creating data-driven, coherent and convincing business cases. Be responsible for taking the project through critical milestones to achieve business goals.
3. Manage several competing priorities and ensuring critical projects remain visible to all stakeholders whilst maintaining a plan for less urgent matters.
4. Dive deep into various work streams and learn about each stakeholder’s contributions and challenges.
5. Prioritize projects with biggest impact on our business, propose and obtain approvals from relevant functional leaders on time.
6. Take accountability while providing regular status updates, mitigating risks, dealing with ambiguity, and effectively escalating issues as necessary.
7. Maintain the overall project schedule that enables the teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and targeted project launch date.

About the team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ people work with a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of cutting-edge vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
3. Experience in program or project management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
2. Relevant experience working in a supply chain, logistics, or operations environment
3. Experience in conceptualizing and implementing operational or supply-chain management improvements
