The role is full-time with hours worked 5 days over 7, Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm
This role will be based on the University campus. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you committed to outstanding service delivery? Do you have great people skills and know how to motivate others to deliver an effective service and go the extra mile? Would you like to join a team that supports our users, visitors and researchers in accessing unique cultural collections?
The University of Leeds is one of the top 75 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
The Brotherton Research Centre, Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery and The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery offer facilities for teaching, learning, events, engagement and research, making use of our unique and distinctive collections.
We are now seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Research Centre & Galleries Supervisor, with responsibility for overseeing services and operations and ensuring delivery of a high quality, customer-focused service to all our visitors.
You will supervise and manage staff within the Visitor Services & Teaching Support Team, ensuring that collections and exhibitions are accessible, staff are appropriately deployed, audiences are welcomed, high quality information is available, and that collections and objects are safe and secure. You will also contribute to the broader development of our services.
You will have substantial experience of supervising or line managing staff along with the day to day running/supervision of a busy customer service operation. With excellent interpersonal, communication and team-working skills, you will be able to engage and motivate your team to deliver a high quality service. You will be flexible and proactive and have the ability to prioritise and effectively manage your own and others workload. Experience of working within a library/galleries/heritage or higher education service delivery environment would be an advantage.
