Job Summary The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for bridging the gap between business objectives and technological solutions, driving process improvement and systems enhancements. Reporting into the VP IT & Improvement, the Senior Business Analyst works across the VIRTUS organisation with key business area stakeholders and Applications Team. Duties and Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to the following: Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Identify and communicate with key stakeholders to gather business requirements, via workshops or other appropriate methodology. Analyse, document and publish business processes, systems and workflows. Where applicable, create functional designs, sequence diagrams, process flows, business rules catalogues and product backlog items to clearly communicate what needs to be developed and tested with the Applications team. Solution Development: Review and analyse business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports, and other key metrics. Use data analytics tools to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Create process flows to support stories which seed the product backlog and work with key stakeholders to agree on prioritisation. Develop and propose solutions to business problems, including process improvements and system enhancements. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a liaison between business users and IT Operations. Facilitate communication and ensure that requirements are understood and met. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements, processes and solutions. Prepare and present reports to stakeholders and senior management. Project Management Support: Assist in project planning and execution with a specific focus on release management and user adoption. Quality Assurance: Support the testing and validation of new processes and systems to ensure they meet the business requirements, including test planning. Provide support during the implementation phase and post-implementation reviews. Person Specification Essential Highly experienced Business Analyst with successful track record delivering business process and systems improvement initiatives (ideally in critical environments) Excellent experience utilising end to end Business Analysis tool kits from requirements gathering (workshops / interviews), creating user stories and testing a release. Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to build working relationships quickly and effectively. Ability to analyse complex data and business processes to identify issues and opportunities for improvement. Familiarity with data analysis tools. Understanding of relevant technologies and how they can be applied to optimise business processes. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with empathy and understanding to manage diverse team dynamics. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and analysis. Flexibility to be able to adapt to a dynamic business environment. Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies. Ability to evaluate multiple options and provide effective recommendations to stakeholders on priorities based on data. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to influence and strong interpersonal skills. Pro-active, and responsive – able to prioritise and deal with intense moments of high activity using excellent analytical/problem-solving skills. Comfortable working through ambiguity, bringing clarity and control in a growing and dynamic environment. Desirable Ideally educated to a degree or equivalent standard, with membership of a recognised relevant professional body, and certification or qualifications from a relevant industry body. Relevant experience within a Data centre or critical infrastructure environment This is a hybrid role, with regular travel to data centres based around London, and occasional travel into central London required.
