The role will involve legal support to senior lawyers across four seats over the duration of the two year training contract and will develop in line with the SRA Principles and Practice Skills Standards.
You will have a strong academic record and/or relevant experiential learning.
The work will involve both contentious and non-contentious law.
This Job Description provides an outline only and may be amended to take account of changes within the firm. Objectives and expanded duties will be discussed and agreed at the performance review with the post-holder.
There will be a review every 6 months before moving to the next team/seat.
Responsibilities
1. Helping with draft agreements, enquiries, applications etc.
2. Participating in interviews at client meetings.
3. Performing legal research tasks.
4. Drafting letters.
5. Participating with, and working on, client files.
6. General administrative and legal support.
7. Participate in team meetings and attend networking events/get involved in business development.
8. Keep up to date with law and practice, attend internal courses, deliver training.
9. Complete the Professional Skills Course (PSC).
10. Any other duties within the scope and spirit of the post as required.
Candidate Requirements
1. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, enthusiastic and have a real passion for law.
2. Must have completed and passed the Legal Practice Course.
3. Minimum 2:1 degree.
4. Work placement experience.
5. Strong technical skills.
6. Commercial awareness.
7. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
8. IT Literate.
