Teaching Personnel are working in close collaboration with a mainstream secondary school in B46, Coleshill to appoint a behaviour mentor to work on a full time basis within the school.
The role of the behaviour mentor is to provide specialist support to pupils with special educational needs and often show challenging behaviour.
Rate of Pay: £84-95 (per day, dependent upon experience)
Hours: Full Time (Mon- Fri 8:30-15:30)
The ideal candidate for this role will:
- have previous experience working in a similar role
- have experience working with children with special educational needs
- have GCSEs in Maths and English
- be a calm and positive influence on the children
- have a passion for education and supporting vulnerable children
The role will entail, but not be limited to:
- supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- providing strategies to manage stresses and anxieties for the pupils, to ensure they still get the most out of their learning
- implement and adapt learning activities to support pupils with their holisitic learning
- Use appropriate behaviour management strategies to encourage positive pupil behaviour and engagement
- Use positive reinforcement rather than negative language
- Communicate effectively with teachers and other members of staff to ensure everyone is on board with fulfilling the holistic needs of the children within your care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
