Sunderland City Council is seeking to employ a Principal Democratic Services Officer to work as part of its busy and enthusiastic Democratic Services team, who help support the democratic functions of the Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for an interesting and varied range of work, and will provide governance advice to the Council, its committees, and other external organisations which work closely with the Council.andnbsp; The role will involve the opportunity to work closely with both councillors and senior officers, and help support their decision making.

The team is based at the new City Hall, situated in the city centre and on the coast, with close access to the fantastic new leisure and cultural facilities developed as part of the cityandrsquo;s ongoing regeneration.andnbsp; A flexible approach to work is required, which balances the opportunity to work remotely with the need to meet the travel requirements of the post, and work outside of normal office hours to cover evening meetings.
