We are excited to recruit on behalf of our client for a dedicated Care Worker/Care Assistant to join their team. Job Purpose
As a Care Worker/Care Assistant, you will provide essential personal care, emotional support, and practical assistance to residents with various care needs, including older adults, individuals with dementia, and adults with learning or physical disabilities. You will work in a registered care home setting, creating a nurturing and homely environment that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. You will also have the flexibility to support other homes as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Enhance Daily Living: Support individuals in activities that bring meaning and purpose to their daily lives, ensuring that each person's unique needs, capabilities, and life history are respected.
* Promote Independence: Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, and administering medication, always encouraging independence.
* Community Engagement: Help individuals access their local community, including attending activities, medical appointments, and other important events.
* Regulatory Compliance: Work in full compliance with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, as well as service and corporate policies and procedures.
* Support Personal Plans: Assist in developing and reviewing Personal Plans to ensure each individual's needs and personal outcomes are met.
* Safeguarding: Identify and evaluate risks to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals, following Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
* Team Collaboration: Liaise with professionals, families, and other carers to provide the highest standard of care and support.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications:
* QCF Level 2 in Care or a similar qualification recognised by Social Care Wales (or willingness to obtain this within your first year of employment).
* Understanding of safeguarding, care with medicines, infection control, food safety, moving and handling, fire safety, mental health awareness, and more.
* Commitment to undertake any relevant training to best support individuals.
Experience:
* At least one year of experience in a social care role within a registered setting is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering quality residential services.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to innovative solutions.
* Strong understanding of the needs, values, and rights of individuals requiring care.
* A respectful and positive attitude towards confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
Special Requirements:
* Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, evenings, and bank holidays as needed by the service.
* A valid driving license (desirable) and willingness to drive a minibus for activities.
* Enhanced DBS check required.
