The FuturU team are looking for suitably qualified assessors to join their growing business. You would be responsible for the delivery of SVQ’s Scottish Vocational Qualification in Health and Social Care (GH5Y22). What does the job involve? The role of the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) Assessor is to conduct assessments. The assessor will grade each assessment against specific criteria and provide detailed feedback to the learner. Prepare candidates for undertaking qualifications Apply assessment requirements and conditions described in the assessment strategy Provide written and verbal feedback to candidates on their assessments, including fail reports. Utilise company technology and platforms to record assessments and interact with learners Attend standardisation events to ensure quality, compliance and consistency across the standard being assessed Make valid, reliable, practicable,equitable and fair assessment decisions Standardise assessment judgements with colleagues. Responsibilities for Supporting and Promoting Quality Assurance Submit accurate information on candidate entries and results for Units to data management staff. Follow all policy and procedures relating to SQA Centre Identify and escalate potential breach of security or compliance Report any issues or complaints to the Senior Management team. What are the main priorities of the role? Assess and document candidates competence against industry national standards., Maintain own experience, qualifications and, where applicable, CPD to meet the Unit/Group Award Specification or assessment strategy requirements. Maintain a thorough knowledge of FuturU policies and procedures Delivery of professional discussions and direct observations of practice, within a candidates working environment. ( Must be able to travel around Scotland, to deliver face to face observations) Qualifications & Experience Occupational competency in relevant vocational sector diploma or equivalent level 3 or above, with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant occupational experience or professional qualification higher than the level of apprenticeship being assessed An understanding of industry requirements including industry bodies Experience of producing clear, accurate and concise written reports A driving licence and have flexibility to travel across Scotland Hold a recognised Assessor qualification Educated to GCSE maths/English grade C and above (or equivalent qualification) This role will be subject to an enhanced PVG Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of SQA assessment activities and methodologies Prioritising and processing large volumes of work whilst maintaining accuracy Well organised and able to support multiple team members Have excellent time management and organisational skills and are able to work independently Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Have an excellent working knowledge of legislation specific to Scotland Support and Training for SQA Assessors Comprehensive induction and training programme for all new SQA Assessors Awareness and visibility of FuturU SQA policies, procedures and regulations Standardisation meetings and activities Ongoing Supervisions CPD Rates: £17.24 per hour Contract: Guaranteed minimum-hours of at least 337 hours per year.
