Requirements:
- - Degree qualified preferred in an audio or engineering discipline.
- ISTQB certification would be preferred but is not essential.
- Minimum 2 years of software test experience.
- Well organized and able to work to tight deadlines with good time management.
- Flexible and proactive in approach to the role; a positive attitude is essential.
- Ability to work on my own initiative and quickly learn new concepts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A strong team player with problem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve performance blockages.
- PC literate and numerate, proficient in Microsoft and Windows applications.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Ability to identify issues, accurately log and record defect records in a tracking system, and progress through to closure.
- Experience with networking and serial debugging.
- Familiarity with fault finding using a logic analyzer, oscilloscope, and multimeter is beneficial but not essential.
- Python scripting experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Recent employment in product/software development in the audio industry would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- As a Software Test Engineer, I am responsible for testing embedded product software and target device applications for audio products. My key responsibilities include:
- Developing software test plans for testing audio products, resolving inconsistencies and issues without supervision.
- Working closely with the Software Development team.
- Running and recording tests to prove software compliance to specifications.
- Interfacing with software developers and other teams to resolve issues and improve quality.
- Contributing to the development of cutting-edge features and platforms, as well as regression testing of existing products.
- Assisting the production team with their software release requirements as necessary.
- Planning software development and regression test timelines and providing feedback to my manager.
- Supporting compliance requirements, including collaborating with third-party test houses and compliance hardware/software engineers.
- Collaborating with technical support and sales teams on software queries and training for current and new audio products in the streaming range.
- Ensuring that all processes and systems of work are designed to uphold our commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and cooperating with statutory duties.
