Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for Maternity Assistants and Maternity Support workers to join our well established team. We are a friendly Maternity Unit and encourage learning within a supportive environment
As part of the team at Kingston Maternity you will be a caring and compassionate individual who is committed to the job, the team and the woman and babies in our care. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective communication at all levels with an approachable personality. Good interpersonal skills are essential.

The midwifery assistant will be part of the multidisciplinary team in the clinical setting. The post holder is working under the direct/ indirect supervision of a midwife in providing a high quality service that meets the needs of women and their babies. They will contribute to ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
The successful candidate will develop a sound knowledge base to support delivery of maternity care and successfully achieve Care Certificate usually within 12 weeks of their commencement in post. For a Band 3 position, the Maternity Support worker will need to have completed their care Certificate and competencies. An understanding of the Trust values and the philosophy of our maternity department is important, as is the promotion of a positive image of the organisation, department and the service.
You need to be able to work well in a team with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. You should have a proven track record of working without a direct supervision. A good level of Maths and English is required for this role. This role requires the post holder to work days, nights and weekends. Part-time or full-time hours are considered.
