Auburn Mere is a 35-bedded medium-sized care home at the outskirts of Watford, providing residential and dementia care.
We are seeking a Deputy Manager to work alongside the current Deputy Manager, who understands the importance of ensuring that the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of the residents are met in a person-centred way.
Location: Auburn Mere Residential Care Home, Woodlands, Oxhey Lane, Watford WD19 5RE
Job type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours (Including every other weekend, 6 hrs admin and one night shift per week)
Pay Rate: £16-£18 (Plus enhanced rate for weekend and night hours)
THE ROLE:
* Ensure compliance with Risk Management and Health and Safety regulations
* Supervise team members in providing high-quality care to service users, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed
* Manage safe staffing levels
* Motivate and act as a role model within the team
* Set and monitor standards of care and participate in quality improvement
* Develop and implement person-centred care plans for the service users
* Audit medication compliance and contribute to effective home auditing
* Work with the Manager to maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents
* Seek feedback from residents and relatives about their experience within the home and address concerns
* Ensure cleanliness is maintained at a very high standard
* Conduct pre-assessment for new residents and ensure new admission procedures are completed
* On-Call – (two weekends a month)
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Good communication and leadership skills
* Prior care home experience as a Deputy Manager is essential
* Excellent IT skills are required
* Participation in continuous professional development
SKILLS / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
* NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent
