A specialist SEMH alternative provision in Birkenhead is looking for a full-time 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and dedicated team. This unique provision offers a safe and nurturing environment for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), enabling them to thrive both academically and personally. The successful candidate will work closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing personalized support and fostering positive, trusting relationships. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored, individualized support to students with EHCPs, helping them engage in learning and develop essential life skills. Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships to create a safe and encouraging environment for students. Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to implement effective, personalized strategies for student success. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting support plans where necessary to ensure ongoing development. Promote and reinforce positive behavior, contributing to the calm and supportive ethos of the provision. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEMH or similar educational setting. A proactive, empathetic, and adaptable approach to meeting the individual needs of students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
