We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Commercial Manager to lead and develop our commercial insurance portfolio. This role is pivotal in maintaining and expanding our client base, optimising commercial performance, and ensuring operational excellence across our brokerage services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Portfolio Management: Oversee and grow the commercial insurance portfolio, ensuring profitability, client retention, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of commercial executives, fostering a high-performance culture focused on service excellence and sales growth.
3. Client Relationship Management: Act as a senior point of contact for key commercial clients, building long-term relationships and providing strategic advice on coverage and risk management.
4. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target sectors. Support the creation of proposals, pitches, and presentations to prospective clients.
5. Market Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with underwriters and insurers, negotiating competitive terms and staying informed about market developments and product innovations.
6. Operational Oversight: Ensure that all commercial activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
7. Financial Performance: Monitor KPIs and contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
8. Strategic Input: Contribute to business planning and growth strategy, using market insights and performance data to inform decision-making.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience (2+ years) in commercial insurance, ideally within a brokerage setting.
2. Strong understanding of commercial lines insurance products (e.g., property, liability, motor fleet, professional indemnity, etc.).
3. Track record of team leadership and business development success.
4. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to analyse data and financials to inform strategic decisions.
6. Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
