Working as a member of the Compliance and Risk Management Team within Berkshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust, the Risk Information Analyst (RIA) works with various client groups.
The RIA is responsible for supporting the design, creation, and provision of comprehensive and proactive information relating to specialist bespoke Integrated Risk Management Information Systems and client-facing literature. This includes providing highly specialised and complex support for designated client groups' national, regional, and local returns, reports, and ad-hoc requests using appropriate specialist skills and tools to analyse and transform complex data into usable, pertinent, and presentable information.
The RIA will assist the Risk Information Manager (RIM) in creating, developing, and adapting complex software/websites using their specialist knowledge to assist in the rollout of new reporting systems and ensure the best representation of the department.
The RIA must have a basic knowledge of the Trust's Complaints, PALS, Serious Untoward Events, Risk, Claims, and Litigation policies and procedures to ensure best practice and that all information is processed in line with current legislation. They will be aware of the highly sensitive, potentially contentious nature of the information involved and assist the RIM and client groups in creating an operational framework that will enable them to achieve and set out long-term goals.
Provide a comprehensive information function for the client organisations within the allocated service group. This will include the use of the Oracle Learning Management System to provide training and ad-hoc information queries and the production of national, regional, and local returns, comparative analysis of secondary, community, and primary care data to support the performance and commissioning of client organisations. Assist staff in the use of complex systems and in writing meaningful reports, using a number of specialist tools and databases.
Attend meetings as required to ensure information issues are represented, understanding is transferred, and forging closer working relationships with the Trust Client group. Working as part of the Risk Management Department with an evolving client service group, providing countywide specialised support and sharing best practice with the Risk Management Team.
Develop expertise in complex data mining and query analysis, using expert judgement to make amendments if necessary with little or no outside help. Use judgement in determining what analytical methods, including inferential and descriptive statistics, would best fit to interrogate and investigate data from a wide range of sources, requiring long periods of intense concentration. This information may then need to be communicated in a variety of media in an easy-to-understand non-technical language.
