Housekeeper BACKGROUND A beautiful estate in Hampshire, located within the South Downs National Park, is looking for a housekeeper. Rotherfield is a progressive estate, taking the best of the old and the new to create a well-cared for, healthy and self-sufficient community, where employment is not solely dependent on agriculture or local economic conditions. There are around 35 people working at Rotherfield across different teams. A strong group of Team Leaders work together directly with the Owner on our long-term strategy of enhancing all the environments across the Estate. POSITION As Housekeeper you are an important member of the family. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the infectious energy of a young family as you immerse yourself in hundreds of years of history. Unlike regular housekeeping roles we think this one is special as it incorporates the preservation of a historical house and its contents. The housekeeper will work closely with Rotherfield’s cook, head of house and have the support from a conservation specialist, a French polisher, textiles expert and in-house archivist. Ideally, this would be a full-time role with accommodation, however, if you live locally and would be happy focussing on either heritage or household cleaning, that’s okay too. We are open to splitting the role into two: 1. Heritage conservation and contents management on a part time basis during term time only/school hours. 2. Household cleaning on part-time hours throughout the year of approximately 15-20 hours a week. The right candidate will bring their positive energy and ideas to a team where kindness and thoughtfulness is at the heart of all they do. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop skills and learn too, in fact, we encourage it. Duties will include: · Household cleaning. · Heritage conservation and contents management. · Office cleaning. · Occasional entertaining/ support on hosting (with advanced notice). · General housekeeping – cleaning, washing and ironing. · Working alternate Christmases and some weekend work. Requirements The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria: · Have at least two years’ of cleaning experience. · Heritage cleaning experience desirable. · Excellent attention to detail. · A team player who is flexible and adaptable and works well under pressure. · Ability to work with the utmost discretion. · Willingness to upskill and share knowledge. Benefits · Great team · Generous pension contributions. · Housing for full time position. · Employee Assistance Program (EAP). · Occupational and Wellbeing Health Checks. · Salary dependent on your desired role, hours and experience.
