We are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer to work as part of our busy safeguarding team, supporting the effective operation of the Academys safeguarding service on a day-to-day basis. The postholder will act as a first point of contact for any safeguarding and child protection concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice to safeguard students, making external referrals to a range of agencies, as and when appropriate. They will be responsible for promoting safeguarding to students and staff within the Academy, including providing high quality safeguarding-related training, to ensure our Academy meets all statutory safeguarding requirements.
Applications are encouraged from candidates with previous experience of working with children and families and dealing with complex safeguarding and child protection issues. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant safeguarding and child protection policies, procedures and legislation and be able to apply these effectively in practice and disseminate to others.The ability to build and maintain good relationships and communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, colleagues and external agencies is essential.
