An exciting opportunity has arisen in our expanding business for a professional, motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our dynamic Transport Department to contribute towards the day-to-day running of the business.
The role is diverse with responsibilities ranging from:
1. Planning routes throughout UK, Ireland, Europe and Internationally as per customer orders.
2. Briefing & Debriefing Drivers; Ensuring they get correct and full information for deliveries/collections.
3. Answering and making phone calls to Customers, Suppliers & Drivers.
4. Helping to manage email enquiries, sending and receiving information from Customers.
5. Accepting and dealing with customers’ orders, tracking orders and providing customers with updates.
6. Organising customs for customers' orders.
7. Problem solving, reducing fuel and overhead costs and maximising drivers’ hours.
8. Helping other staff with any ad-hoc and other administrative duties.
9. Adhering to Health and Safety Practices & Drivers Hours Regulations.
10. Organising Sub-contractors, Booking Ferries and recording shipments.
11. Managing POD’s, CMRS and all paperwork within the Transport Office.
About the Applicant:
1. An interest/knowledge in the Transport Sector.
2. Knowledge or experience with Customs.
3. Class 1 Driving License.
4. 1-2 Years+ Experience established in a similar Transport Planner role.
5. Strong geographical knowledge of Ireland, UK & Europe.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Competent use of MS Office - particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
8. Organisational skills, including good time keeping and prioritizing tasks.
9. High attention to detail, professional & approachable.
10. Can work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative.
11. Can work under pressure to meet deadlines.
12. Willing to adapt to changing situations and quick to make decisions.
13. Positive can-do attitude, reliable and hard working.
Hours of Work is 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday and Saturdays as required. There is a possibility for career progression through time also.
