We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant
Role Objective
The Management Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely production of the monthly Management Accounts. Working closely with the Finance Business Partner to provide financial analysis and develop reports to provide financial insights to business leads to aid decision making. Having strong technical/IT skills are essential for report writing, have a desire for process improvement and strong transactional understanding.
Specific Responsibilities
Monthly Reporting:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts in a timely manner (day 6 target)
* Margin, stock and variance analysis
* Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts to ensure accurate reporting
* Provide insights on the monthly/YTD management accounts
Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Assist in the preparation of both the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
* Prepare business case for approval for Capital Expenditure and track spending once approved
Other Reporting:
* Quarterly VAT returns
* ONS Surveys and regulatory forms as required
Cash Management:
* Maintain the daily cashflow forecast
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure payments are made in a timely manner for continuity of supply of goods and services.
* Provide insight on cash performance.
Costings:
* Support the FBP in the development of accurate product costings
* Investigate & prepare variance reports in relation to product costings
Inventory Management:
* Monitor inventory levels and perform required reconciliations.
* Analysis of inventory related costs to ensure accuracy and efficiency in inventory management
System Enhancements and Process Improvements:
* Process Optimization: Suggest enhancements to our management accounting system and functions
* Automation Opportunities: Explore opportunities to automate transactions and reporting
Skills and Attributes:
* Experience: Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within manufacturing or related sectors.
* Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to approach people at all levels of seniority. Articulate, confident communicator and presenter.
* IT Proficiency: Strong IT/systems experience
* Adaptability: Thrive in a busy environment, happy to adapt and get involved in other accounting functions as and when required
* Technical: Excellent numerical skills, comprehensive understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, analysis and reporting of financial data. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent problem solving skills.
Qualifications and Experience Levels:
* Professional certification or working towards (eg CIMA/ACCA) - desirable.

This is a permanent position based at our site in Burnley.
Salary is dependent upon experience.
Working a 39-hour week
7.45am -5pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 1pm on Friday.
