About the Role
Toyota's Process Improvement Engineers play a critical role in ensuring their mass production operations run effectively with minimal downtime.
Working closely with the maintenance teams, engineers will be responsible for:
1. Complex problem solving, resolving issues related to manufacturing machinery ensuring minimal production downtime.
2. Investigating customer-reported defects relating to the process and machinery.
3. Driving continuous improvement projects such as IoT integration and condition-based monitoring, aimed at enhancing equipment performance and improving overall maintenance efficiency.
4. Supporting with the refurbishment, upgrading, and installation of new machinery.
5. Managing the lifecycle of machine parts, identifying obsolete components, and ensuring timely procurement and integration of replacement parts.
6. Working collaboratively with other Toyota sites across Europe to share best practices and contribute to ongoing kaizen activities focused on operational and process improvements.
7. Setting and managing the annual maintenance budget.
8. Overseeing contracts and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, including management of legionella control and lifting equipment safety protocols.
About You
To be considered for the Process Improvement Engineer role, you should have experience within the following:
1. Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment (ideal).
2. The ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritize work, and deliver on projects within strict deadlines.
3. An understanding of maintenance on a variety of production machinery.
4. Understanding machine reliability and a proven track record of improving OEE.
5. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently where required.
6. A mindset for continuous improvement, striving to always be better.
7. Qualified within an engineering discipline 2:1 or above.
