The Role
As an Electronics Engineer, you’ll play a key role in testing, diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling critical electronic systems. From reverse engineering to developing bespoke testing procedures, you’ll apply your expertise to solve obsolescence challenges and ensure systems remain reliable and safe.
This position offers a mix of hands-on technical work and collaborative projects, giving you the opportunity to make a significant impact on the longevity and functionality of advanced electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Repair & Testing: Diagnose and repair complex analogue and digital electronic systems down to component level.
* Reverse Engineering: Develop innovative solutions to replace obsolete components and enhance system reliability.
* Testing & Development: Design and maintain test rigs and procedures (both manual and automated) using tools such as Matlab and LabVIEW.
* Problem Solving: Tackle technical challenges, including redesigns and obsolescence issues, with innovative and practical solutions.
* Documentation: Produce clear, professional reports and documentation to support processes and findings.
* Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, clients, and suppliers, while mentoring and supporting junior team members.
What We’re Looking For
* A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with analogue and digital electronics.
* Proficiency with diagnostic tools, ATE programming, and software such as Matlab and/or LabVIEW.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
* Experience in safety-critical environments is advantageous but not essential.
* A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
