The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils' educational, social, and emotional development, ensuring they receive the best opportunities for success. Key Responsibilities: Support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs. Provide 1:1 and small group (3-4 pupils) support to enhance learning experiences. Assist with the implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. Support students with personal care where necessary, in a respectful and dignified manner. Monitor and record student progress, contributing to reports and feedback for teachers and families. Adapt to the varying needs of pupils and contribute flexibly to the school environment. Requirements We are looking for candidates who demonstrate: Experience working with children, ideally in a SEND or educational setting (desirable but not essential). A passion for supporting children with ASC and SEMH needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, are desirable but not essential.
