About us
It’s an exciting time to be joining Children Social Care in Warrington, as we have been chosen as a Pathfinder authority for the Families First for Children reforms.
The role
We have a number of opportunities across the teams:
1. MAG: This is our multi-agency front door, where social workers screen referrals and make assessments of risk to ensure children and families receive the right intervention at the right time.
2. Duty and Assessment: This is a fast-paced team responsible for the initial assessment of children and families to determine the ongoing level of need. They complete assessments at Child In Need and within Section 47s.
3. Family Help Teams: This role is based within our Family Help and Protection social work service. They will be based within our newly formed locality Family Help Teams, which are multi-disciplinary teams including social workers and practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds. They will work with families at Child in Need, Child Protection, and care proceedings.
4. Multi-agency Child Protection Team: This is a new team established as part of the social care reforms. We are looking for social workers who are 3 years qualified and have experience working with families at risk of significant harm, on Child Protection plans, and within care proceedings. The role will involve facilitating our new Child Protection Decision-making meetings, leading reflective spaces, and completing specialist assessments for the court. It will also involve holding a small caseload of court proceedings.
