Position: SENCO Location: Enfield, North London Start Date: January 2024 Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Salary: £40,000 - £54,000 per annum Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) – Enfield A well-established independent specialist school in Enfield is looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our supportive team. The school provides a nurturing environment for children aged 7 to 17 with autism and related needs, offering personalised education and a focus on holistic development. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring that each child receives tailored support. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to create and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Monitor and assess the progress of students, adjusting interventions as required to ensure optimal development. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on best practices and strategies for supporting students with SEN. Maintain regular communication with parents and carers to support students’ educational progress and wellbeing. Qualifications and Experience: A recognised SENCO qualification is essential. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a specialist educational setting. A thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
