We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to fill a new role in the Technology Team, reporting to the Technology Team Leader. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about cybersecurity, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the protection of the company's digital assets. The Cyber Security Analyst will assist in monitoring, identifying, and mitigating security threats while working closely with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), to deliver on our Annual Cyber Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Security Monitoring & Incident Response:
1. Working with our MSSP to respond to and action security alerts.
2. Assist in investigating security breaches and conduct root cause analysis.
3. Fine tuning and ongoing improvement of security event logging and alerting.
2. Threat Analysis & Vulnerability Management:
1. Assist in vulnerability assessments and mitigation of risks by ensuring patching SLAs are met.
2. Research and stay up-to-date on emerging threats and attack techniques.
3. Support efforts to implement security patches and updates.
3. Security Policies & Compliance:
1. Assistance in the creation and updating of cyber security policies and procedures.
2. Participate in internal security audits and risk assessments.
3. Support security awareness training initiatives for employees.
4. Working to industry recognised standards cyber security standard and frameworks.
4. Network & System Security:
1. Help configure and maintain security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
2. Monitor user access and assist with identity and access management (IAM).
5. Security Documentation & Reporting:
1. Maintain logs and reports related to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
2. Assist in creating security documentation, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. University degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and security best practices.
3. Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, firewalls).
4. Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, etc.).
5. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (NIST, Cyber Essentials).
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
