Company Shop Group (CSG), part of Biffa, is the largest commercial redistributor of surplus food and household products in the UK, enabling some of the biggest retailers, manufacturers, food service and logistics providers to unlock value from surplus stock, which may have otherwise gone to waste.
The Head of IT is responsible for for leading and managing the Company Shop Group IT department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services and solutions across the business. You will oversee the development and implementation of the CSG IT strategy, policies, and standards, and ensure alignment with group objectives and goals.

Your core responsibilities
1. Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services and solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the business and customers, and comply with the relevant standards and regulations, including PCI and GDPR
2. Provide strategic direction and leadership for the IT department and ensure the effective and efficient use of IT resources and capabilities
3. Lead and manage the IT team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
4. Ensure the IT department adheres to the IT policies, procedures, and best practices, and implement appropriate risk management and governance frameworks
5. Provide expert advice and guidance on IT matters and issues, and resolve any IT-related problems and incidents
6. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends, and assess their potential impact and value for the organisation

Our essential requirements
8. Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
9. 10 years of IT experience, with 5 in a senior IT management role
10. Broad IT knowledge to include cloud and SaaS services, MS Stack (Azure, 365) Experience with PCI compliance and GDPR standards, emerging retail technologies
11. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop the IT team
12. Strong knowledge and expertise in the IT domains relevant to the retail sector, such as e-commerce, data analytics, cloud, security, and customer relationship management
