Your new company has built an enviable reputation within the local construction industry for the delivery of high-quality maintenance projects over a wide and varied range of construction in both public and private sectors. They offer a wide range of services to the Educational and Healthcare sectors. Established over 10 years ago, they continue to grow and develop and therefore now require an MTC Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team. Your new roleReporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the cost management of a range of maintenance projects across several frameworks. It will be your responsibility to provide weekly reports on cost management and the progression of each project to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. As a person, you must be organised and hands-on in order to be capable of managing several projects at different stages at any one time. You will have a keen eye for detail and ensure that all aspects of your role are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying and have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role working with MTC Contracts and have good knowledge of the PSA Schedule of Rates. You will be commercially and contractually aware with a good working knowledge of construction and engineering contracts. Additionally, you must be IT proficient and preferably demonstrate experience in the use of construction software packages. Strong negotiation skills and effective time management will be essential for the role.
