Role Overview: The Strategic Planning Surveyor is a key member of the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) team. The team supports the business by identifying, securing, and promoting land through the planning process for mineral extraction and industrial development, creating valuable assets. You will focus on ensuring long-term mineral supply and industrial footprint planning to sustain and develop Tarmac's Business Units (BU).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement regional strategic plans to identify mineral and land requirements for each BU.
2. Support in securing land and mineral assets to meet strategic objectives.
3. Develop secured assets through planning and permitting processes to create operational real estate assets.
4. Manage planning applications and ensure compliance for existing quarries and industrial sites.
5. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and managing L&NR and BU Capex projects.
6. Engage with operational BUs to align planning activities.
Candidate Profile:
Successful candidates will ideally have:
* A strong interest in real estate, planning, and land interests.
* Self-motivated and independent professionalism.
* A passion for a career in real estate.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
* A relevant Degree, working towards or recently qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (RICS) or Town Planner (RTPI).
Practical Experience:
* Experience with prospecting licenses, options, and lease agreements related to land and mineral prospects.
* Experience in delivering mineral and industrial planning projects.
* Knowledge of UK land development planning policies.
* Understanding of landlord & tenant and planning legislation related to mineral/waste and industrial property.
* Stakeholder engagement and community relations experience.
* Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively.
