This newly created strategic role will be responsible for the leadership and delivery of all Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) Products within the Under Water Systems (UWS) UK Domain This role will be responsible for setting the strategy on how ASW delivers contracts to all customer. It will create opportunities to change our ways of working and grow our ASW contracts across the portfolio. This will test our ability to do things differently. Key Objectives Increase UK customer intimacy, creating a Strategic Customer Management Engagement Plan Long range (outside MYB) UK UWS ASW Plans with core, target and stretch ASW product plan targets and ownership Create a clear plan for ASW Autonomy, including as a service In 2024 ASW represented £100M revenue per year and associated Cash; this is forecast to grow. A significant change from our current approach to the ASW PLM role is that this position will need to interact and work with senior customers (up to and including 4) and Thales Seniors (all levels) with the aim to deliver the necessary business change. To have the credibility and access to do this will require significant UK submarine command experience and a balanced and vibrant network across the UK ASW enterprise derived from working at the most senior levels. Dreadnmought delivery of the sonar for UK RN next generation of SSBN submarines. SSNA is a complex and evoloving programme and delivers support and enhancement to the UK Royal Navy. Astute Mid Life Upgrade, and support for Vanguard Class UK SM platforms UK Frigate capability, development of T26, and support of T23. Hunter Canadian Surface Combatant Missions & Responsibilities List duties and responsibilities of position including P&L, targets, team sizes etc. Lead the ASW Product providing vision / strategy and overall customer intimacy Establish and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships that will ultimately underpin the successful delivery of business targets, aims and objectives. These internal relationships will include functional Directors and external relationships will include Customers, Partners/Suppliers and other industrial organisations. Change the ethos of how we deliver, make it cheaper, more efficient and understand how the external market is changing. Translate complexity into the customer language and set the strategy on how UWS UK delivers capabilities to all our existing and potential ASW customers. Develop, socialise and gain approval for the ASW product road map and lead on delivering the change this demands. In addition this role will now support wider T UK on major campaigns in the Naval sphere Ensure these strategic visions and route-maps are translated into tactical actions the teams can understand/follow in order to ensure business targets and results are achieved e.g. Order Intake, Revenue, Cash. Provide pro-active direction and advice on all aspects of bids and programmes based on a mixture of customer intimacy, theory and personal experience, which will also include the key aspect of planning and management of change. Ensure all business planning and reporting required information is created and published in accordance with the normal reporting drumbeat e.g. Business Operations Report (BOR), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), etc Conduct in a timely manner all associated HR processes e.g. Check-Ins, Discipline for the directly managed team and provide input when requested for matrix managed individuals. The role will also involve occasional ad-hoc duties that are not listed above but are necessary to respond to the needs of the business. These ad-hoc duties will be consistent with the nature of a leadership position within Thales.
