Summary This opportunity will be based at our Shepshed (Polymers) facility which produces highly specified aerospace airframe and engine seals and composite panels for global civil and military markets. The Engineering Intern will provide assistance on routine problems to the engineering support teams. These could include the Applied Research and Technology Team, Engineering Design Team or the Manufacturing Engineering Team. They will gain an overall knowledge and technical proficiency in engineering with departmental objectives. Responsibilities - They will assist with engineering designs, experiments and assemblies as required. - Perform trouble shooting and qualification testing to support engineers. - Work to gain overall knowledge and proficiencies with engineering tasks and processes. - They will support unit initiatives. - Learn and understand systems and processes within a regulated industry. - Assist project engineers with managing and execution of projects - Other responsibilities as assigned. - Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. - Occasional variable schedule and possibly some UK travel. Qualifications - A levels/a secondary certificate/high school diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. - Should have successfully completed at least two years of an engineering degree course at an accredited university by summer 2025. - Suitable applicants will be studying aerospace, mechanical, materials or a similar engineering discipline. - Prior industrial experience is not required. - Skills: - Strong word processing and data entry skills. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrate strong work ethics and ability to drive tasks to completion. - Team player. Time frame: Applications must be received by 12:00, 14thFebruary 2025. Interviews will take place during March or April 2025. Internship will be for a continuous 12 month period commencing in July or August 2025, to be mutually agreed.
