Role: Flexographic Label Printer – Level 2
Location: Preston (PR2), Lancashire, UK
Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: Minimum starting rate of £14.30 per hour
Shift Rate: Additional 20% of basic salary
Hours: Double Day shifts alternated weekly. Running 1 week on “earlies” 6.15am till 2.15pm (8hr day with one 30-minute lunch break) 37.5hrs per week. Then rotating to 1 week on “lates” 1.45pm till 22.15pm Monday to Thursday (8.5hr days with one 30 min break), then Friday 1.45pm till 7.15pm (5.5hrs no break on this day) 37.5hrs per week
You’ll be part of the fantastic Zebra manufacturing team working to produce labels, tags, and wristbands used in multiple industries. You will be operating various converting machines.
Responsibilities:
1. Review job instructions and requirements
2. Setting up of machine including material, tooling, plates, inks and auxiliary equipment
3. Operation of flexographic printing machinery (Nilpeter FA*4 desirable)
4. Loading of material reels onto various lines of equipment
5. Producing rolls/packs of self-adhesive and/or tag labels
6. Conduct Quality inspections and monitor and control print quality
7. Complete relevant quality documents associated with the process
8. Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and always keep press and work area clean and tidy
9. Complete relevant in-house training courses both practical and online
10. Work to shipping deadlines/production schedules
11. Consistently achieve productivity/quality targets
12. You'll also need to be able to:
13. Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
14. Use trolleys or hand trucks to move items around
15. Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
16. Complete overtime to help the team cover holidays and other instances
Qualifications:
1. Prior experience of operating flexographic printing machinery essential (lithographic will be considered)
2. Knowledge of EFI Auto-Count 4D Desirable
3. Able to work using own initiative
4. Excellent eye for detail
5. Able to problem solve
6. Able to work as part of a team.
7. Basic IT Skills
