Behaviour Mentor - Hillingdon - immediately - PRU - £80-£100 a day (depending on experience)
Behaviour Mentor required for a secondary school based in Hillingdon
We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor who has:
1. Experience working in a school or school provision
2. A passion to make a difference
3. The ability to start ASAP
4. Availability to work Monday - Friday
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will have the opportunity to help young people break down the barriers affecting their behaviour and address their worries. If you have worked in a similar field and wish to gain experience in a school environment, we encourage you to apply.
In the event of challenging behaviour situations between students, you should feel confident in your ability to handle them effectively.
About the role:
1. Work closely with young people with challenging behaviour to help them overcome their challenges.
2. Provide support and mentoring during difficult times.
3. Act as a positive role model by setting a good example.
4. Provide one-to-one support or group support for small groups.
5. Support or lead intervention groups targeting students with challenging behaviour or SEMH problems.
6. Maintain close contact with class teachers and other members of the behavioural teaching team to inform them of student progress.
About the School:
The PRU located in Hillingdon provides a service for children unable to attend mainstream school due to disabilities. Students may be referred to the PRU if they require more care and support than their current school can provide.
Students who attend a PRU might be:
1. Permanently excluded from their mainstream school for behaviour or at risk of permanent exclusion.
2. Experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, including anger issues, mental health issues, and school phobias/refusals.
3. Subjected to severe bullying on a regular basis.
4. Diagnosed with special educational needs (SEN) or in the process of getting a diagnosis.
