As an Attendance Officer, your focus will be on improving student attendance and punctuality across the college by rigorous monitoring and delivering targeted interventions, as well as providing effective administrative and clerical support to the Student Services team. This is an ideal post for a person who is passionate about establishing strong rapport with students, removing barriers to attendance, and working with individuals to bring about improvement where this is needed. At the same time, post-holders must be rigorous about maintaining high expectations, standards, and discipline in line with college systems.

1. Proactively monitoring attendance trends and working with the pastoral team to implement effective strategies.
2. Developing and overseeing attendance improvement plans for individual students, setting achievable targets and regularly reviewing progress.
3. Following up student absences and setting high expectations for attendance.
4. Providing administrative support for attendance monitoring and pastoral interventions.
Do you have experience of providing support and guidance to young people? Can you demonstrate a student-centred approach? Are you passionate about helping students to reach their full potential?
If you have answered yes to these questions then we want to hear from you!

Further details about the role
Blackpool Sixth is an outstanding college specialising in 16-19 education. We have an exciting opportunity for an Attendance Officer to join our Student Services team. This is a permanent post and a full-time role would be 36.25 hours per week, staff term time only. We would however consider applications from those looking for a part-time role, but the expectation would be that the successful candidate works a minimum of 20 hours per week over 4 days (the salary will be adjusted accordingly).
