⚕️ The Division of Women and Children, including the Safe Centre, is seeking to recruit aClinical Governance and Risk Midwifeto join the Divisional Clinical Governance Team. Your focus will be on managing safety and quality processes related to incidents, risks, and the broader governance agenda. Our division encompasses diverse services such as the Central Lancashire Breast Unit, Gynaecology (including the Safe Centre), Maternity, Neonatal Services, Acute Paediatrics, and Community Paediatrics.
We are seeking an individual with in-depth knowledge and significant experience in clinical governance to lead the agenda within Maternity and Neonatal Services. You will collaborate closely with the Divisional Clinical Governance and Risk Lead, the Divisional Nursing and Midwifery Director, and clinical directors and leads within Maternity and Neonatal Teams.
This is a full-time, permanent position at Band 7.
✨ We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to join the team and drive the governance agenda for the division, working collaboratively with the Trust's corporate governance and risk team.
You will be responsible for monitoring and triaging patient safety incidents for Maternity and Neonatal Services, coordinating the investigation and response to clinical incidents alongside the senior management team.
You will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that operational performance indicators are met concerning the national MBRRACE-UK/PMRT collaboration, ensuring timely notifications to relevant external bodies (e.g., NHS Resolutions Early Notification Scheme and Maternity and Neonatal Safety Investigations).
️ Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, as you will present reports and provide constructive challenge where necessary. Strong time management skills are needed to manage a busy workload, and a flexible approach is crucial to meet departmental needs.

️ Coordinating the delivery of the Trust Risk Management Strategy across the Division - maintaining compliance with clinical governance and patient safety standards.
Coordinating and completing investigations into incident reports, managing investigation processes, and report collation in collaboration with clinical teams.
Coordinating and supporting the leadership of the clinical governance agenda and line management of the clinical governance and risk facilitation team.
Collating and approving Specialty and Divisional assurance reports and action plans.
Supporting clinical governance risk monthly dashboard compliance and responding to reduced compliance.
Coordinating and disseminating learning from incidents, risk assessments, complaints, and claims, ensuring actions are followed up and robustly completed with audit assurance.
