Duties
Job-holders at this level in the family may work in the companies contact centres or in other service departments around the Council. Job-holders in contact centres will work primarily with service users face to face, over the telephone or via written or electronic correspondence. All jobs are responsible for responding directly to service users either providing information or assisting with service transactions.
Roles in zone 2 are more complex, dealing either with more difficult customer issues or in areas that are more demanding in terms of the knowledge and skills required. Roles in the contact centres generally require some previous experience across at least two service areas. The knowledge required will be largely factual or procedural, and will relate to one or more relatively narrow or straightforward fields. There will normally be ready access to more senior staff to whom the job-holder can refer problems or to other team members who hold the requisite knowledge
