Pay Rate: £11.59 per hour rising to £11.88 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, 37 hours per week
This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension at the discretion of the business requirements.
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Admin Officer to join the team at the Magistrates court based in Bradford. The role will include working as part of a flexible team. You will need to have excellent attention to detail due to the nature of the role.
This post is within the admin team at Skipton County Court. Skipton is a small court, so the role includes all areas of civil and family work.
Responsibilities
1. Issuing new money claims, enforcement proceedings, and family applications.
2. Taking and accounting for court fees, book-keeping, and daily balance.
3. Dealing with customer queries by phone, email, or in person at the court counter.
4. Updating electronic court records and manual files with all documents received.
5. Preparing files for court hearings.
6. Clerking attended court hearings and hosting remote hearings on Microsoft Teams.
7. Drawing court orders.
8. Filing, photocopying, and handling post (in & out).
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
1. Good communication skills and be confident speaking to the general public, the legal profession, and the judiciary.
2. Good numerical ability and familiarity with Excel spreadsheets and basic accounting.
3. Keyboard skills and the ability to process documents at a good pace.
