The Opportunity
Our client is a leading, well-established Building Services Consultancy. They work in a range of industries including Commercial, Residential, Education, Retail, Leisure, and Health care. Having been awarded several new contracts, they are now recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their design team.
This is a permanent or long-term contract position working on a hybrid basis.
The Position
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, your role will be to oversee junior staff and undertake engineering designs, provide project management, and administration duties. You will monitor design team costs, taking into account the programme and budget provided for each of the projects.
You will also be responsible for assisting with assessments and providing bids for projects as directed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To implement company procedures and policy.
2. To carry out Electrical design and project management of various types of projects in accordance with the company aims and policies.
3. To manage the design team and provide Electrical engineering support to all Electrical engineers.
4. Liaise with clients and attend meetings on all aspects of the projects.
5. Carry out surveys and produce reports.
6. Carry out quality inspections of projects.
7. Use CAD systems in line with Pinnacle company procedures.
8. Monitor financial aspects of projects.
9. Formulate Electrical standards within the organisation.
10. Mentor and oversee junior staff.
The Person
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you should be able to produce designs from initial design through to completion, including the production of specifications, drawings, schedules, and cost estimates using Word and Excel.
Qualifications:
1. Experience and knowledge of current Building Regulations, specifically energy-related controls.
2. Experience working in a consultancy on a variety of project types.
3. Project management of multi-disciplinary projects.
4. Producing detailed specifications.
5. Producing design calculations both manual and software type, AutoCAD/Revit, Hevacomp.
6. Production of tender packages.
7. Carry out tender analysis of returned tender packages.
8. Production of budget costings for all aspects of services.
9. Carry out site surveys in various parts of the UK using your own vehicle or public transport.
10. Carry out on-site project management.
11. Production of condition reports.
12. Management of junior staff.
