About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to come and join Bury Council, leading the Whitefield Integrated Neighbourhood Team based at Windsor House. We have a great opportunity for an experienced manager to help us lead Adult Social Care in Bury in delivering excellent local services. You will have a strong commitment in continuing to build our excellent professional workforce, and you will have a passion for promoting staff development. You need to be able to form effective and positive working relationships with other agencies, which includes our health colleagues with whom we already have excellent working relationships. Bury Council are leading the way with integration and this is evidenced in the strong Neighbourhood model that is in operation, recognising the unique needs of the individual neighbourhoods across the Borough. We are searching for someone with the enthusiasm and experience to proactively lead and continue this work.
The Social Care Team in the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams consists of Social Care Officers and Social Workers. We are co-located with our health colleagues within the local Community, and we work with the residents of Bury and their carers to promote the independence, rights and risks, and empower them to live a positive and fulfilling life. We are looking for a team manager with the empathy and drive to make a difference, who will support in identifying creative ways to support our community to achieve their goals, and to live as safely as possible in the place they call their home.
We aim to work towards a standard of excellence, working within Legislative frameworks alongside Bury Council's policies and procedures, effectively managing performance and producing high quality work which makes a positive difference to our Bury community.

As a manager in Whitefield, you will have responsibility for the management of this INT, which includes 6 social workers and 2 social care officers. You will be responsibility for supervision of the team, managing the allocations, leading team meetings and reflective supervision. Whitefield team host the specialist Preparing for Adults Team (2 Social Workers) with support of supervision from the team manager.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
