Working as the Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician you will provide multi-skilled trades to operate, maintain and service plant or equipment within the scope of the role at all London sites as required. You will also provide technical support, advice and instruction to other maintenance staff and contractors. As the Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician you will carry out work activities which are both routine and non-routine. Carry out new works, repairs and routine planned maintenance activities to mechanical and heating, hot and cold water plant, equipment and services, and building related works. DUTIES Your duties as the Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician include: Carry out work activities which are both routine and non-routine maintenance Carry out new works, repairs and routine planned maintenance activities to ventilation / cooling, heating, hot and cold water plant, equipment and services Carry out reactive work requests, minor new installation requests and planned preventative maintenance dockets efficiently Escort contractors carrying out inspections, installations and or repair Strictly adhere to the relevant policies and procedures, maintain tool lists and comply with Health and Safety and Security Regulations CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Minimum NVQ Level 3 in plumbing, refrigeration or mechanical services Specialised in a mechanical service (i.e. Gas, refrigeration, heat pumps) Water safety Training Extensive experienced in mechanical, ventilation or gas installations and maintenance. Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision Worked within NHS environment Initially, the post holder will require to have their own tools & PPE Ability to interact at all levels Flexibility and adaptability. Computer literate Site based, primarily UB1 but candidate may be asked to attend to other London sites Satisfactory attendance to work 8-16:30 M to T and 8-16 F Current clean driving license (manual) Work to deadlines and may be required at any London site May be required to participate in the Department’s out of hours on call system Clear enhanced DBS.
