We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Material Engineer to join our dynamic Initiative Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and performance of all materials used in our finished products. From the development and validation of new materials to the management of existing ones, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of materials, ensuring they meet our high standards.
What you will Do
The Material Engineer will support new product initiatives by developing material specifications and collaborating with suppliers to optimize material characteristics and manage complaints. They will oversee raw material aspects during validation, coach the Converting team on material specifications, and manage material defects.
Additionally, they will handle communication regarding quality incidents and complaints with the Converting and Quality departments.
The role involves acting as a safety role model, developing BOM material data sheets, testing materials, and participating in trial executions.
The Material Engineer will collaborate with various departments for material development and optimization, support machine technology modifications, seek value engineering opportunities, and drive continuous improvement of BOM materials to enhance production line performance and support the initiative process.
* Safety Leadership: Act as a role model for safety in all activities.
* Material Development: Develop new BOM material technical data sheets and test materials.
* Trial Execution: Support and participate in trial executions for new products/materials, coordinating the collection of test data.
* Cross-Department Collaboration: Interface with GBIS, EPM, R&D Packaging, Sourcing, SQM, and MeSAVE for new material development and optimization.
* Technology Modifications: Participate in and support machine technology modifications related to materials.
* Value Engineering: Continuously seek opportunities for value engineering and material rationalization savings.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement of BOM materials to enhance production line performance.
* Initiative Support: Support the overall initiative process.
