Job summary The post is suitable for candidates who will already have completed 2-3 years post-registration, who would like to gain further experience in neurology before applying for specialist training. The post will enable the trainee to build on their internal medicine training or equivalent experience. Whilst prior experience of neurology is useful, it is not essential. There is an expectation that the post holder will recognise the limitations of their practice and seek support from senior doctors to ensure safe patient management. Main duties of the job The role in conjunction with senior doctors and consultants will involve diagnosis of new patients with neurological problems and refer them for further investigations before following up and managing a range of diseases, disorders and conditions affecting neurological function. You'll also treat diseases such as meningitis and diseases which result in weakness or sensory impairment.
