We have an exciting opportunity for a Switchboard Operator to join our team on a permanent basis. This position is well-suited to a hard working individual with a customer focused approach and is looking to gain experience within a healthcare environment. Job Role: To be responsible for receiving and forwarding incoming external and internal calls from patients, staff and clients via the windows-based switchboard console. Assist in the smooth operation of the hospital by ensuring the provision of a high quality and responsive communications service to our staff, patients and customers. Monitoring of alarms and dealing with emergencies. Covering for staff who are absent from duties to support a 24/7 service. Programming, issue, testing and recording of bleeps, ensuring correct type of bleep is issued. Responding to urgent and non-urgent alarms and follow the already agreed procedures. Act as the first point of contact in respect of the procedure for visitors and out patients who become sick or ill on site. Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Basic general education Customer Service Experience Knowledge of Bolton Hospital and the NHS Excellent telephone manner Able to work under pressure Why work for IFM?
