Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of building projects throughout the construction phase to ensure compliance with building regulations.
Review and approve plans and specifications submitted for building approval to determine adherence to codes and standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, architects, and contractors on building regulation compliance and best practices.
Prepare detailed reports on inspections, findings, and recommendations for necessary modifications or improvements.
Collaborate with other professionals within the organization to facilitate smooth project execution and regulatory compliance.
Stay updated with changes to building regulations and industry standards, incorporating these changes into practice as needed.
Mentor and train junior team members, sharing knowledge and insights to enhance their professional development.
Requirements
Must possess a Class 3 qualification in Building Control Surveying or equivalent.
Extensive knowledge of building regulations, codes, and standards, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in conducting building inspections and providing compliance advice.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex building plans and specifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with computer software and tools related to building control, inspections, and project management.
