Job Title: Compliance and Regulatory Officer Reporting To: Head of Research and Development Location: This role will be based at Kilwaughter, Co. Antrim Job Purpose: In this newly created role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Organisation is compliant with the relevant regulations and legislation (CPR, BPR, CLP, REACH, etc.) in both the UK and EU markets. You will be responsible for the development and management of product SDS and ensuring the company’s products (both existing and new development products) meet the required regulatory standards for the markets in which they are placed. Working as part of the R&D team you will collaborate closely with all departments on product compliance and customer technical support, creating and issuing the required documentation and ensuring all packaging and labelling remains compliant. Key Responsibilities: Take responsibility for health, safety, and wellbeing to deliver a safety-first culture Adhere to all policies and procedures in relation to product safety and compliance to ensure our products are safe and are of the highest quality standards. Responsibility for ensuring the Organisation is fully compliant with CPR, CLP and REACH regulations, and BPR Legislation, in both GB and EU. Develop and maintain a clear roadmap to address future changes and maintain currency in compliance requirements. Maintain and develop an up-to-date SDS database, current to both GB and EU requirements with associated UFI code generation and compliance with on-going PCN dossier submission. Manage test programme for CE marking and comprehensive DoP / RA database ensuring clear position on Product Safety and Compliance. Assist in compliance with all product Reaction to Fire regulations with a maintained database for the ongoing Reaction to Fire test programme, results storage and clear understanding of requirements for all products to ensure Product Safety and Compliance. Contribute in interaction with external regulatory and industry bodies (BBA/KIWA) on all projects with database of actions for each project showing timelines, costings, next steps. Prepare and supply Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) in support of all products and manage the SDS database. Coordinate and oversee generation of IUCLID Poison Centre Notification (PCN) dossiers. Coordinate and oversee product documentation relating to CE, UKCA and CPR requirements for both manufactured and re-branded goods, working with Marketing in the design of packaging and labels. Provide risk assessments for goods not covered by harmonised standards. Act as an ambassador for our company values and adhere to all company policies and procedures Any other duties as required by management Essential BSc degree or above in scientific discipline with competence in Material Science. Excellent working knowledge and experience in implementation of GHS / CLP regulations in EU and GB and experience of SDS authoring. Functional understanding of the requirements of EU and GB BPR, EU and GB CPR and Reaction to Fire of building materials. Highly IT Literate in Excel / Word with experience of SDS authoring software in creating and filing necessary documentation for compliance with GB HSE and EU ECHA regulations. Desirable Experience within a construction materials testing environment. Awareness of the strategic objectives of a commercial and research department.
