The Role: Safety Improvement Manager

About The Role
The Safety Manager will be responsible for the development, operation, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management Plan (SMP), which includes the policy and procedures for the safety management of all Products, Systems, and Services (PSS) that have the potential to cause direct or indirect harm to individuals, property, or the environment.
You will regularly interact at all levels in the organisation and need to be able to communicate effectively with everyone from Subject Matter Experts in teams through team leaders to senior managers.
You will be responsible for the development, operation, and continuous improvement of the Safety Case, including:
* Safety targets & criteria;
* Confirming change has gone through due process and governance;
* Safety processes and associated documentation;
* Promotion of Safety Culture;
* Reporting on Safety performance;
* Monitoring safety-related occurrences and the impact on Safety Cases;
* Ensuring the Safety Management System is implemented;
* Producing and managing safety documentation in preparation for the Safety Control Board and Safety Board meetings;
* Acting as a member of Safety Management Review Panels for Safety Cases.
Minimum Requirements:
* Demonstration of authoring a safety case and subsequent management (within maritime or software domains) using GSN, BowTie, SWIFT, HIA.
* Experience with after-occurrence management and investigations.
* Safety Performance Indicators using SMART objectives and keeping to tight deadlines.
* Experience of working to a Safety Management System (SMS), with a particular focus on producing Safety Case Reports and Safety Incident Reports (Knowledge of Human Factors in Safety Incidents).
