The 24-hour Children’s Emergency Department (CED) on our Watford site is a fast-paced and exciting place to work. Not only are we a busy Trauma Unit and proactive research participants (currently participating in multiple large national studies), we are also looking to become accredited with the National Autism Association.
On top of a co-located PAU, we have two designated paediatric resus bays supporting an inclusive environment that is nurturing and encouraging of professional development.
We are further expanding our team by implementing a Paediatric Charge Nurse role into our department, enhancing our already highly skilled workforce. We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, committed and strive to motivate and influence others positively.

We actively encourage education and training with our dedicated Paediatric Practice Development and Medical teams seizing regular opportunity to provide education supported by SIM. Our forward thinking CED is supported by Advanced Care Practitioners, two dedicated Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultants, Paediatric Consultants and Paediatric Matron.
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric nurse that is an inspirational role model, confident, committed and driven. The postholder will demonstrate competence in expanded clinical practice. You will be expected to support and lead staff, cohesively working within the MDT, ensuring safeguarding maintained. You will ensure to deliver care in accordance with Trust policies and protocols.
With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.
