MERITUS are recruiting for a Project Planner to join our client within the Energy industry in a permanent position to support the Operations Manager in day to day planning and coordination of project activities.
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual to support the project delivery team in planning and coordinating projects and programme activities. This role spans a diverse portfolio of projects, involving activity planning, resource coordination, and supply chain/logistics management. The position may require occasional visits to customer sites, so familiarity with different project delivery models, systems integration, and the energy market is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Management Team and Project Managers to develop and maintain detailed project plans and resource allocation strategies across multiple projects.
2. Prepare detailed impact assessments for project variations.
3. Support the sales team by developing comprehensive tender programmes.
4. Coordinate and liaise with site-based installation and commissioning teams, ensuring programme updates and progress tracking.
5. Manage interactions with internal teams (shop floor build and purchasing) and external suppliers to ensure the timely provision of installation materials according to work schedules.
6. Report on project progress, performance metrics, and commercial updates to the Programme Management Team.
Qualifications:
1. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
2. Proven experience using Primavera P6 or MS Project to manage complex engineering projects.
3. Understanding of NEC contracts and their application in project planning.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases.
5. Background in work planning and resource allocation.
6. Familiarity with Earned Value Analysis (EVA).
7. Experience in procurement, supply chain management, subcontractor coordination, and logistics.
8. Previous experience working on projects with National Grid or other large-scale electricity generation/transmission companies.
