An exciting opportunity has opened up to join our Respiratory Medicine rotation as a full-time Band 7 Physiotherapist.
We welcome applications from individuals with experience in this specialist setting, including Non-Invasive Ventilation management. The current vacancy is based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary but the post holder may be required to work into any of the areas covered by the service.
The post will include working into our well-established Respiratory Support Unit, Emergency Department, Coronary Care Unit as well as Respiratory and Cardiac wards. The case load is diverse and will include, but not be limited to, conditions such as COPD, NMD, OHS, CWD, ILD, lung cancer. Regular treatments will include, but not be limited to, mechanical ventilation, varied chest clearance techniques, weaning from respiratory support, arterial blood gas sampling as well as rehab intervention for a complex respiratory cohort.
There is an established Respiratory in-service training programme as well as in-team education. Continued professional development is supported and encouraged with many opportunities in house for both clinical and non-clinical development. This post would be well suited to a current Band 6 with experience working within Respiratory Medicine or an existing Band 7 within the specialty. There will be robust support on offer during an induction period and beyond.

Applicants should be HCPC Registered and be able to demonstrate significant clinical experience and evidence of CPD within the specialty.
The successful candidate will be required to work on a roster pattern to support 7 day working (1:4 weekends) and will have a commitment to the on call rota.
The post will have responsibilities alongside fellow Band 7 Physiotherapists in leading a team of Band 5/6 Physiotherapists plus support staff to deliver high quality interventions to acute respiratory patients. This role will be supported by a Clinical Specialist Band 8a and an Operational lead.
